The grey apartment: Michele Catti (Palermo 1855 - 1914)
The apartment Michele Catti is an attic with a wide balcony of about 25 square metres. It has two rooms, including a bedroom and a living room with a balcony, as well as a kitchen/living room and a bright terrace, ideal for having meals and drinks in the mild weather of Palermo.
Catti was a student of Francesco Lo Jacono and Antonio Leto. In his mature stage, he painted sombre autumn landscapes of grey skyes and cold windy days. Most of his production is scattered in private collections in Palermo, hence is relatively little fame among the wider public.
